Small Bath Tubs

There are several aspects to consider before buying a bathtub, albeit a small one, which include making sure that the bathtub you buy will fit into the space you allotted for it. The small bathtub that you buy or build should be able to fit through the doorway, and if it doesn't, the door needs to be broken down to fit it through. Plumbing is also very important to consider when installing a new bathtub, to make sure that current plumbing is compatible with the new bathtub. When these important factors are taken care off, then color and material should be chosen.

Generally acrylic and fiberglass provide good value for money and are extremely durable. For fancier bathtubs, you can choose porcelain, cast iron or cultured marble tubs. Small bathtubs are generally chosen by people who have extremely small bathrooms, but still want a space to take a relaxing bath. One problem with small bathtubs in the market is that they are too small to soak in, which is what most people buy them for, and is a great inconvenience, especially for taller people. People now opt for small bathtubs that allow people to sit rather than lie down. These bathtubs allow water up to people's and sacrifice length for depth, and are better at soaking then normal small bathtubs.
Another alternative is the 'walk-in-bathtubs' which is a sophisticated version of the Japanese wooden barrel bathtubs. These bathtubs take up less space then a conventional bathtub and have a door on the front, which allows for easy access. The drawbacks to this bathtub are the fact that the door has a potential to leak, and must be continuously maintained, as well as the fact that the door cannot be opened unless the bathtub is completely empty of water, and so a person has to be inside the tub when filling or emptying it with water.

Small bathtubs are convenient when taking a bath is a weekly occurrence. Most people opt for showers instead, as they are quick and easier, and along with a high-end shower installed in their bathroom, a small bathtub is also installed for those rare baths, just enough to have a good soak.

There is nothing like a relaxing bath after a particularly exhausting day, or a game of tennis and a small bathtub does the job well, since its size is functional and it offers all the facilities a larger bathtub would.
